Why I Love Resort Weddings

Choosing your wedding venue is one of the most important decisions you can make in wedding planning, second, of course, to choosing your future spouse! There are countless choices and so many factors to think about when deciding on your wedding venue, but if you’re looking for a place that has it all, I’ve got the venue type for you. Resort weddings are not only convenient, but they are also extremely beautiful, and happen to be one of my favorite options for my couples. There are many benefits to hosting your wedding at a resort and once you hear them all, you may soon realize it is the perfect choice for you and your fiancé.

As mentioned above, convenience is one of the top draws for getting married at a resort. The wedding ceremony and reception are on-site, which is easy for your guests to navigate and means you don’t need to travel in between the two events. This eliminates a lot of guesswork for your guests since they only need to follow signage or ask a resort employee for directions between locations (which are often very close by one another). Another convenient aspect about a resort wedding is the ability to coordinate a room block. Unlike having a room block at a standard wedding venue, you and your guests will be able to stay at the venue itself, which eliminates worries about driving home after drinking or trying to coordinate travel. Your guests will also have the hotel concierge handy with lots of options for nearby restaurants and activities, saving you from the countless questions you may get from out-of-towners about recommendations for the area.

Another great reason to get married at a resort is that all the banquet necessities will be included. Catering and bar services are on site, as are all your furniture needs such as tables, chairs, standard linen options, flatware, china, and glassware. Having all this on site saves a lot of time and hassle with logistics, and even if you want to upgrade any of these items, most resorts have rental companies they work with and are able to help coordinate that for you. Most resorts even have a dance floor included at their reception spaces, which is another item checked off on your to-do list.

Getting married at a resort really is a dream come true for many couples and could definitely be the right fit for you. If you are looking for a convenient, efficient, and beautiful place to get married, I definitely recommend considering a resort. With all the amenities of a hotel and wedding venue in one place, you’ll have everything you need for a memorable wedding day.
